UK Electricity

UK domestic electricity is 240 volts AC, 50 Hz. Except for two pronged electric shaver sockets and ceiling light sockets, all other mains sockets are three square shaped pinned plugs and sockets.

In the majority of other EC countries domestic electricity is 220 volts AC, 50 Hz., the majority using two round shaped pinned plugs and sockets.
